Building a stepped Patio

We transformed this sloped, empty area into a practical outdoor living space. First, we installed a French drain to solve persistent drainage issues - ensuring water would no longer pool or undermine the new structure.

Using heavy-duty timber sleepers, we created both a retaining wall to hold the bank and a raised foundation for a stable patio area. The sleepers provide a clean, modern edge while withstanding soil pressure behind them.

Integrated steps were built from the same durable timber, connecting the patio to the garden with safe, easy access. The result is a multi-level solution that turned the slope into usable, acessible space.
